Divine Intimacy: Meditations on the Interior Life for Every Day of the Liturgical Year
This Book of Meditations is a classic and is seeped in Carmelite spirituality. For every day it offers two meditations, in liturgical arrangement, that enable the soul to enter the conscious presence of God and to reflect on the theme of the day. These are followed by a ‘Colloquy’ that helps the person at prayer to start a friendly conversation with God where acts of praise and love, petition and thanksgiving are made, together with good resolutions for the future. Here we are at the very heart of prayer, which is a heart-to-heart encounter in faith with the living God.
Divine Intimacy is the highest state attainable on earth. In this union of love, the soul produces acts of love which have an immense apostolic influence on a multitude of souls. This knowledge of the ways that lead to God, according to the teaching of the renowned Spanish mystics, is distilled into the pages of this book.
About the Author:
Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, O.C.D., was a Discalced Carmelite priest who became one of the most revered masters of the spiritual life. He acquired a vast knowledge of the ways that lead to holiness and to union with God. His experience with souls, whom he guided to the heights of perfection, was outstanding. He was an expert in the spiritual and mystical doctrine of St. Teresa of Jesus (Avila) and of St. John of the Cross. The Discalced Carmelite nuns of the Monastery of St. Joseph in Rome were the heirs of the Father Gabriel’s vast output of published works and private manuscripts. For ten years, he guided these nuns as their confessor and spiritual director, and it was they who helped him to arrange his material in line with the course of the liturgical year, while following the ascent of the soul to transforming union with God, or to ‘Divine Intimacy.’

Food for the Soul: Reflections on the Mass Readings (Cycle A)
The Bible was referred to by Vatican II as "the support and energy of the Church,” “the pure and everlasting source of spiritual life,” and “the food of the soul.”
However, for many Catholics, their interaction with the Bible is frequently confined to what they hear at Mass and the uninspiring, safe, and predictable homilies that tend to hide rather than reveal God's Word.
Peter Kreeft, a renowned philosopher, invites the faithful—both clergy and laity—to a heart-to-heart connection with Christ the Word through the Word of the Scriptures in this captivating three-part series.
Throughout the three-year liturgical cycle, as Kreeft moves through the readings for each Sunday and other significant liturgical occasions, he challenges readers to sow their souls in the fertile soil of Scripture and sharpen their minds with the Sword of the Spirit. Kreeft brings the Mass readings to life in this way.
Food for the Soul is a gift to the entire Church from one of today's finest Christian authors, whether you are a layperson looking for more information on the readings at Mass or a priest or deacon looking for inspiration for a homily.
Vatican II called the Bible "the support and energy of the Church," "the pure and everlasting source of spiritual life," and "the food of the soul." Yet, for many Catholics, their engagement with Scripture is often limited to what they hear at Mass. In Food for the Soul (Cycle A), the first book in a riveting three-part series, celebrated philosopher Peter Kreeft invites the faithful--clergy and laity alike--to a heart-to-heart relationship with Christ the Word through the Word of the Scriptures.
Moving through the first reading, second reading, and Gospel reading for each Sunday and other major liturgical celebrations throughout the three-year lectionary cycle, Kreeft brings the Mass readings to life with his trademark blend of wit and wisdom, challenging readers to plant their souls in the rich soil of Scripture and sharpen their minds with the Sword of the Spirit. Whether you are a layperson looking for additional insight on the readings at Mass, or a priest or deacon looking for inspiration for a homily, Food for the Soul is a gift to the whole Church from one of today's greatest Christian writers.

Food for the Soul: Reflections on the Mass Readings (Cycle C)
The Second Vatican Council called the Bible “the food of the soul.” Yet, for many Catholics, their engagement with Scripture is often limited to what they hear at Mass—and the dull, safe, predictable homilies that obscure rather than break open up the Word of God.
In this riveting three-part series, celebrated philosopher Peter Kreeft invites the faithful—clergy and laity alike—to a heart-to-heart relationship with Christ the Word through the Word of the Scriptures.

Healing After Loss: Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief
The classic guide for dealing with grief and loss. Daily reflections to find solace in our own lives, and comfort in the connection of sharing these meditations with countless others.
After the focus on planning and outpouring of love from family and friends in the immediate aftermath following the loss of a loved one, we are left to enter a new version of our lives where someone important is missing.
For days, months, years, the pain of the loss can crash in all at once. It is tempting to push that wave of grief back and soldier on with our new lives, but the loss will never lose its controlling power if we don't find the courage and love to face it. Meditating on the loss, along with the rush of love that comes with it, gives us a chance to rejoice in the life that was shared, and to look forward in which memories of our loved ones continue to bless us.
The short, poignant meditations given here follow the course of the year, but it is not a necessity to follow them chronologically. They will strengthen, inspire, and give comfort for as long as they are needed.
